There is a minhag (custom) to give charity before Pesach to see that all Jews have their Holiday needs taken care of. As opposed to Matanot Le’evyonim, which can easily be taken care of on the day of Purim, Maot Chittin are needed well in advance of Pesach to allow for proper distribution of funds. Please bring your check in to the CAS office as soon as possible and make them out to the “CAS Passover Fund”. The money will be distributed locally and in Israel to help people in preparation for Pesach.
